Synopsis

This book analyzes the transformative role of artificial intelligence (AI) tools. It highlights how this technology is redefining teaching, assessment, and learning. In particular, the controversial generative AI enables personalized educational experiences, automates administrative tasks, and supports simulations, intelligent tutoring, and immediate feedback. However, it also raises ethical challenges related to data privacy, algorithmic bias, technological dependence, and the widening digital divide. The book underscores the need for teachers to evolve from content transmitters to critical, ethical, and creative mentors with strong digital skills. It also proposes integrating AI into curricula through tangible actions, such as virtual simulation labs, complex data analysis, personalized AI materials, and AIdriven assessments.

The development of critical thinking as a core competency in an information-saturated environment is emphasized, and methodologies such as problem-based learning, project-based learning, Socratic debate, and digital literacy are suggested. Overall, the work concludes that generative AI does not replace teachers but rather expands their capabilities, provided it is used from an ethical, inclusive, and socially just perspective.
